Re: 69-70 grill help
Only diff from '69 to '70, is the inner grille piece. Outer is the same for both years. Oh, the headlight doors are painted differently.

Re: 69-70 grill help
If you run that part number at Chevy, it's $587.00......If you check with your local dealer, it maybe cheaper to buy the same grill from them and not have to pay the shipping cost.

Re: 69-70 grill help
There are two different outer grilles.
The differences are between the turn signal and the headlamp. Also there is a different paint scheme, see below. Thanx to Indyuke and FirstOwner69 v GM Replacement Grille v v GM Correct Originally Equipped on 1969-1970. v

Re: 69-70 grill help
^^ on the pics that Dano69c10 posted, the top pic is of a NOS 1980's grill I believe. The lower pic is NOS 69-70 grill. Judging by the pic 69c10 posted in the first post, his is a NOS 1980's GM grill.

Re: 69-70 grill help
I relabeled my pics, is this correct now? Thanx for the info.
Seems like if it is a NOS replacement grille, that's alot of money. I wonder if "original" grilles can be "refurbished" for less money, or if there are any NOS 69-70 grilles out there somewhere.

Re: 69-70 grill help
They're both original and made by GM... just some were made later and differ slightly. I don't think there's much of a difference in value. But some (like me) like to have the 69/70 grills, and they're pretty easy to come by in junkyards. I got one a little while ago for $35. It only had one dent the size of your thumb and it was very dirty.

Re: 69-70 grill help
My 69 came new with the grille shown in the second picture. In early 1972 some jerk hit me in the left front. The replacement grille in 1972 was like picture 1. I remember being po'd at the time (and still am). Therefore, I assume that the style labeled as 1980s was, in fact, at least sold starting in early 1972. Of course, I also got the 1970 style inner grille.
