Suburban Lift-Off Questions

We're getting ready to lift the body off our '65 Suburban. Ive seen some threads recently about cab lifts and rotisseries. Obviously the Suburban body is a little tougher to deal with.

I guess I'm looking for help from someone who's done a frame-off on a sub -

1) What's the best way to lift it?
2) Are there things I need to do beforehand to make sure I don't twist it or tweak it?
3) For those who have done it - are there things you wish you had done differently?

Any help is appreciated. To say I'm in over my head is an understatement - but diving right in is the best way to learn to swim . . . I think . . . right?

Re: Suburban Lift-Off Questions

Dino -

Thanks for the quick reply and the pics. HUGE help!

One more stupid question - Is it better to have the doors in place - or at least have the door openings braced to prevent the possibility of twisting the body when lifting it? Or are these bodies stiff enough that I don't have to worry about it?

Re: Suburban Lift-Off Questions

I dont think you'll have a problem in the door area ... unless you had more material removed.

If you were working on a 'vert, then absolutley lose the doors and brake the s#it out of it.
