hub socket teeth wont grab while trying to remove rear drums HO52

Hey all, im using a napa hub socket to try and remove my hubs but the teeth wont grab. does anyone have any tricks they could suggest so i can get these fuggers off? rear end is the corporate HO52 on a chevy '70 c20

I did mine a couple months ago. truck hasn't moved since then.. but, i assume you need to bend that back when you put them on? lol : P What do i need to worry about if i don't?

yes they need bent back. This is a locking washer, it helps keep the nut from backing off.
If it backs off while driving, bad stuff can happen.

I only use that socket for the assembly on a torque wrench.
