62 gmc burb rear upper hatch part no.'s

i had and installed the hatch hinges for the upper half, door not high enough to clear lower door by about 1/2". Part number on my hinges is 3773160. The assembly manual says they should be 3773157. Anybody know why the difference? These hinges came in a box with the body I bought. Is this another "62" freak of nature?

This guy has had quite a few Suburbans / Panels & Pickups over the years. He has converted some from barn doors to Clam Shell.

You might check to make sure that the hinge attachment area of the hatch is not bent. I have seen several Suburbans where the hinges get rusted up and stiff and the sheetmetal starts to distort and bend

thought that, but numbers don't match. kinda lotta of bending though, cant be that bent, hinges totally loose. if i lift up on the gate i can close it properly, thought about jacking up the hinge areas but terrified about cracking paint. would rather find out about the number discrepancy
