upgrade from the old bulb box to fuse box?
Hello my name is Ernesto and i'm building a "66" c10 and i want to upgrade from the old bulb box to the newer fuse box. I was wondering if anybody new if i could get a wiring harness with the fuse box from a chevy truck from the 80's and some how rewire it so it would work gauges, lights, ignition, etc... in my "66". Any help would be appreciated This part of the project is really racking my brain. Thank You!

Re: upgrade from the old bulb box to fuse box?
You could take a fuse box from a newer truck and splice the wires into your trucks harness, but that would be a lot of work. You could use a whole new harness (what I am doing) because your wires are nearly 50 years old if original. Rewiring an old truck takes some time, but so worth it in the end. So few problems.

You can buy a univeresal 22 circut wiring harness of ebay with new fuse box etc for $170.00 which is the route I plan on going. They get even less if you want less circuts but I would rather pay $20 or $30 extra for that 22 Circut so I can expand as much as I want later. Here's the link;

If you want easy and proper, get the Classic Update series from American Autowire. I got the cheaper harness and now wish I would have done that to begin with, the cheap harness works but isnt pleasing to the eye at all.
