Frames
I posted locally on CL i need a 70-72 chevy gmc shortbed frame, trailing arms, that accomidates power steering.
I already had one guy say he had a 70 frame, but it was under a 78 truck with leafs. morons. Are there any differences in the 70-72 then the newer? I know alot of guys have used newer frames up to 77 or so? I need a good frame for the stepper with PS. Mine has none. I don't want to end up with something wrong. Thanks guys.

Re: Frames
I thought power steering frames were different than non for 68-72? I guess I am mistaken, I can just add PS to my 71 frame? I haven't pulled it apart yet to see if the dimple is there. But I have a 2wd PS box and pump from a 71 (I think) engine.

Re: Frames
it'll bolt on.
The frames changed dramaticly in 73. Longer wheelbase, and a major kick up directly under the cab. A 4X4 can pull it off with a custom body lift and a relocated rear axle. But a 2 wheel drive can't do it. You'll end up with a mostly custom built frame and coulda saved time just going all out and full custom frame. |

Re: Frames
power steering box should bolt right up to your 71 frame. Po added dimple to my 67 frame.

Re: Frames
Did you verify it had the claimed frame? It would be a LOT of work to make it work under a 2 wheel drive.

Re: Frames
I did not, only going by what he said, he told me the frame was junk, and he got a 77 rolling frame for it.
