door question

Hi guys, i just purchased a 69 c10 and am starting to work on it. When i got it the doors worked perfect, and while it was still on the trailer the drivers side door got stuck shut. It seems like the latch on the inside is working. The outside latch is broken and the button just pushes in because it is missing some parts. The door latches on the inside seem to both be doing the exact same thing but only one opens. Im kind of stuck here as i cant get the door to open. Any ideas on how to get it open? Thanks.

Re: door question

Try taking a screw driver and slide it in next to the button on the door handle. There is a mechanism you can push in that will release the door latch.

Re: door question

The button on the outside handle fell in actually and if i push that lever that the button pushes the door does not open. The lever on the inside actually moves it all the way yet and it still does not open.

Re: door question

If that doesn't work for ya, you could try to take the door panel off and then manually open the door. I would suspect maybe one or more of your linkages and/or clips may not be hooked up.

Hope you get the darn thing open!

Re: door question

I would suspect the door is still locked.

Re: door question

try lifting on the door, or pushing down while you try to open it. It sounds like the door may have shifted while on the trailer. Mine got stuck while I was fitting them.

Maybe have someone push from the inside too.

Re: door question

The door locks and unlocks fine and when it locks i cant move the inside handle. I also cant move the door at all really, maybe il have to try moving it a little harder.

Re: door question

Well i just got it open, i could shake the whole truck around pretty good pulling on it but i got a pry bar in right by the window and it popped right open. The cab must have shifted enough that it pinches the door really tight. The cab is shot and so are the mounts to the frame.
