1968 gmc am/fm radio
Does anybody have a good picture of an original 1968 gmc am/fm radio and do you know if these were a one year only design or are other years the same? Thanks, Brian

I think 70 or 71 was the first year for am/fm.

Thanks for the replies, they must have been late to switch to Fm then.

Re: 1968 gmc am/fm radio
Yeah they were,compared to cars. Just like tilt wheel,cruise control,shoulder belts,head rests,integral p/s,disc brakes,and standard:side marker lights,electric choke,day/night mirror,padded steering wheels...trucks received many upgrades later than cars

Re: 1968 gmc am/fm radio
Will a radio from a 1968 Gm product fit in the truck dash though? Maybe I'll just do that but I do not want to butcher the dash.

Re: 1968 gmc am/fm radio
First generation Camaro radios fit right in and look the same as the truck radios. But,you'll pay a premium over the already expensive truck AM/FMs. Why not just put a truck AM/FM in? If GM did put AM/FMs in a '68 it would have been identical, the AMs are.

Re: 1968 gmc am/fm radio
You can get an AM radio and send it out to get modern guts and FM radio put in it. (don't recall the name or I'd have posted)

Re: 1968 gmc am/fm radio
I'll put whatever I can find in there that is simialr in vintage. It's just that I know someone who hoards old gm wagons for demolition derby cars and figured he may have one for cheap. I just didn't know if it would fit.
