Cameo update...shifter?
Well its been a long time since I posted, but then again I haven't had any updates! Well, now I have the motor and trans in her,(350/TH700R4) and as soon as I find the time I will complete the wiring! I am looking for a floor shifter, but not sure what shifter works best as far as demensions go. I am looking at the Lokar or American Shifter products as I want something that will look as if it actually belongs there and wasn't an after thought. I am going with an "original" look, as far as paint and interior go. Any ideas or recomendations? What did you use? Pics?

Re: Cameo update...shifter?
I looked long and hard when I was thinking about going auto in the 59. Everyone I talked to, and every shifter I saw it all boiled down to Lokar. Pricey but feels real tight and positive. It looks good and has some of the best mounts out there.
Only my opinion and worth every penny you paid me for it. |

Re: Cameo update...shifter?
I considered the B&M, but they don't make any shifters that look right in these trucks in my opinion, they all seem like an after thought, just the same way a muncie looks when the shifter is growing from under the seat. I guess my actual question is what size/measurements/bends are you guys using? Pics?

Re: Cameo update...shifter?
I have a B&M shifter but my truck is heavily modified and everything looks out of place, so the shifter blends in with the mix. If I were you, I'd look close at that Lokar shifter. I think they have a number of choices.

Re: Cameo update...shifter?
Yes there are so many choices, I would rather buy the correct one first rather than spend several hundred dollars to find the one with the correct bend/height, so I am looking for input on this topic from others who have done this!
