I'm picking up four Pontiac 389s next week. I'd like to rebuild one for my nostalgic hot truck '67 GMC project.

If I could, I'd be a Ponti-Yakker, too.

Loved my 389 in my '64 Bonneville. Could it have been the Hydramatic?

My ex-brother in law had a bored/stroked 421 in a '55 Bel Air 2-dr sedan that was plumb nasty.

Yep. It was in my 68 corvette. Seeing how everything here in the winter likes to flash rust from sitting, bare metal wise, I'm not taking the chance of my new engine rusting away. So, I'm taking the engine and trans that's for the vette, and putting it in the Longhorn. Big Burn Outs!

69c-owner, get a set of tri-tube headers. almost a direct fit, or cheap Summit $99 second gen firebird headers.

Tri-Ys for what application? I'll need a set when I get a 389 built.
