Another New Guy
Hey guys, A buddy of mine kept telling me about this site. I have read some interesting stuff on here and hope to contribute my share. heres a picture of my truck, NOW REMEMBER it is a PROJECT!!!! I got this truck a few yrs ago and it's been sitting in my backyard waiting to have it's rebuild. I am not sure what the drop is on it cause it was lowered when I got it. So far I have swapped the bed and I am curently doing a crank and cam swap. I just hope it ends up as nice as some of the rides on here..Any Ideas on what size drop it is?

Welcome...nice project you have there!
I would guess your drop is about a 5/5 drop by looking at the stance. On the rear, you can get a better idea by looking to see if the axle is above or below your leaf springs. If it is above then someone did a rear "flip", thus giving you about 5" or so. If not, then there are either drop springs or a shackle/hanger combo...probabaly giving you about 4" The front will more than likely have dropped spindles or lowered control arms...you can tell by looking. You also might have drop coils or the stockers were modofied. Keep us posted on your project. -Jeff |

looks like a good start. i can give you a pretty good estimate of the drop if you let me know what size tires those are, it looks like 235/60's on front and 275/60's on rear. if so, then i would say its about a 6 inch drop in front and around 4 or 5 inch drop in the rear
what are your plans for it?

I'm going with Ryan on this..I say cut coils and drop spindles (6") and drop springs and shackles on the back (4"-5"). Looks like it'll be a good project though Toss some rims on that puppy and drop the bed a little more and badda bing!

Yhanks guys. The rear does not have a flip kit, but it does have shackle and hangers. I was thinking about a flip kit and maybe notching it. The front may have dropped springs but not for sure on that. I have another truck here that was wrecked and if I can't get a few bucks out of it I wanted to do the saddle pancake and get some of my clearance back. Right now the lca are about 2 inches off the ground, they show quite a bit of abuse. Now that I got the bed on (man what a ***** by yourself) I need to get fenders and a hood. Anyone know of a good source for reasonable priced ones? I also have alot of parts on the other truck if anyone is interested. Thanks for the welcome guys

I had to have something to get it to roll.... those were the only tires we had to spare. Anyone got any they would like to donate???LOL Tires and wheels are the least of my worry's right now. First I gotta put this new crank and cam motor. Then it's on to the body work. then I can deal with this tire and wheel situation.
