drop the rear
Just bought a '56 stepside, and need to lower the rear maybe 3 inches. Previous owner added coil springs. Coils that are there are six coil units. What would you recommend to drop the rear 3 inches? Thanks. sr

Re: drop the rear
You probably need to be a little more specific. Did the PO replace the stock leeafs with coils or just add coils over the leafs for extra load capacity?

Re: drop the rear
cut out the springs and move the axle to the top of the leafs with a flip kit.

Re: drop the rear
I bought 1/4 think bottom plates for leaf springs from Four wheel drive place on-line cheap for Jeep, I think it was less than twenty dollars for the pair, and Bought U Bolt take off's from a Truck Accessory Shop for $10 and Saddle that go to the bottom of the rear end for $8 from trailer place. I use all these items to flip rear end. Way cheaper than after market kits and rear shocks from a 66 ford econoline (KYB's) for $60 each on Amazon. They are shorter for drop. Flipping gives you a 5-6 inch drop. You can see it on my build
