1965 Suburban taillights

Does anyone know where to get Taillights for the Burbs? I know this has been asked before but there are no good links for the Burbs only the truck lens. I have found about making your own but you need a vacuum chamber and I don't want to spend an extra 200 to get one on top of the supplies just to make a set and having to get the original lens smooth and no cracks as that is the problem to start with and I don't really know about trying to cast it myself lol. Anyone on the board make their own tailights or vendors selling repros??? Thanks

Re: 1965 Suburban taillights

I bought a new set about a year or so ago from a truck parts supplier on ebay, but I don't remember the name. But I did find this used set on ebay.....

http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-66-1960-1...item2a1598f364

I thought Classic Parts had them, but apparently not. I'm sure one of the parts suppliers has them.

Re: 1965 Suburban taillights

I’m not finding anyone that currently carries suburban tail lenses. Americanclassic.com used to carry them under part number TLL6P, but currently show them as discontinued:

Although there are a pair of used lenses on Ebay currently:

Call Dan's Classics out of Portland, OR. I know he has them. I think he sells them for about $35 or so.

Re: 1965 Suburban taillights

Make sure who ever you buy from, actually has them. I bought from a good source and it still took 3 months to get them. The excuse was, the ones he had were cracked. He did make good on a new pair of repops, so I think they are out there, as he had to get them from somebody.

I don't think I would hold out for NOS unless I was doing a concourse resto. (2 cents)

Re: 1965 Suburban taillights

Is there a gasket that goes between the lens and the housing, or just the one glued on the back of the housing?
