Question for shavers

I've got an old cab I'm playing around with. I want to learn how to shave drip rails. I am starting on the passenger side at the rear bottom. I don't see any problems welding up the seam where the two panels meet, but do you need to do something with the channel that is left on the inside. I'll attach a pic. The area in question will be to the right of the crack you can see between the panels. Any input appreciated. Got any pics?? Sure would like to see some close ups of rail shaving!

There have been several discussions about this in the past. I did a brief search and found this:

Check it out. Good luck

Okay, Now I've got a question. Ya know the seams in the roof, well, they look to line up right, say if I was just gonna fill it with a solid weld. But would the roof then have a little point, because it also looks like it'd have a little angle in it when done. If you dont understand, just say so, I'll try to find a pic of what i mean. Thanks.

Crank, I have seen those welded in and they look great. I am going to weld mine in solid. You will just shape it with the grinder and a little filler.

here's mine that i've been working on...it's a little futher along than this now.....i think the lip left at the front gives a little more detail....instead of just being rounded, although rounding the front takes quite a bit more work to do....but i think it's more personal preference..
