So My motor at one time have factor motor markings on the heads I think it was a WA just want to see if that is correct. I didnt take a picture of it before it came off.

This is an example of what Im thinking of ! Not my truck here, but it just reminded me that there was a marking on mine like his.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are talking about the wax pencil marks on the passenger side head (pic)? First time I've seen those on an engine.

Re: factory motor markings/ pictures ?

Thats how they identified the engine at a glance so they wouldn't have to put on their glasses and read the stamp pad. Some years had a yellow sticker. There were also crayon marks of the suffix code on the side of the block upside down. You got to remember they were on a production line. Lots of tricks to elimanate mistakes and save time.

Re: factory motor markings/ pictures ?

I'm just guessing but I would say that grease pencil mark was probably put on the head before it was assembled on the block. If that is the case the other head might have the same marking on the back of the head as it sits on the block as these would have been on the shelf faceing in the same direction (I think they were interchangeable from side to side in 68) before assembly.

Yours was assembled Jan. 8th 1968 at the Flint plant. 307 200hp 2 bbl.

There were a lot of different engines being built at the same time back then and this might have just been a way to make sure the stoner engine builders put the right heads on the right block.

Dam..I'm too slow at typing, I think z10kl is more on the right track then I am.
