Brake booster question?

Will a power brake booster from a newer year of truck interchange with my 71? I'm needing a new booster and have access to a junk yard with newer model trucks, any idea if a 88-98 will work??? I figure most 70's and early 80's will be close to what I have, if rod length and brackets are the same.
Anyone running boosters from newer trucks????
