Re: Have u seen these cab handles on our trucks?
Aftermarket units sold at parts houses and truck stops. Usually stuck on pickups by guys who have a hard time getting up in the cab due to too many stops at the local diner.

Re: Have u seen these cab handles on our trucks?
Those were commonly used back a while when accessorizing a truck was big. medium duty and larger trucks use them due to their "step-up" height. GM makes and installs them on their medium duties. I had a pair on a K/30 that was kind of high. Can handles go along with the bed rail, west coast mirrors, clearance lamp, hood ornament, etc "dressed-up rig" theme. I call 'em coffin handles

Re: Have u seen these cab handles on our trucks?
I've never seen those on any truck here in Texas. I believe I've seen similar in boats, motor homes or other type of recreational vehicles but never on a pickup truck. Definitely an add on.
I have relatives and friends that need help getting into cars and trucks but I don't see where having a handle in that location helps much. My mother in law grabs the one inside the front cab pillar to help herself in and then the one above to pull herself on the seat in our vehicle. |

Re: Have u seen these cab handles on our trucks?
Nowadays every SUV and truck has grab handles inside. So,it's not like it's a silly idea or anything.
Here's a picture of the GM ones:

Re: Have u seen these cab handles on our trucks?
Mid-late Seventies and well into the Eighties. Believe it or not, people used to dress up their pickup with all kinds of stuff....bug deflectors, cab lights, bull bars, fender skirts, fiberglass visors for windshield, cab fairings, fender flares....oh, and CB antennas...LOL.
I knew you knew that, already.
