Brake line size?
Getting ready to build some new stainless brake lines and was wondering what size of tubing to use. Is it 3/16 on the 72? Also anyone use the AN fittings and how did they work for you? Also if I convert to rear disc can I use the factory diameter brake tubing?

Re: Brake line size?
Stock brake lines on a 72 are 3/16" front, (master cylinder to the caliper hoses), 1/4" rear (from the master cylinder to a connection to a hose at the rear end location). On the rear axle the hose connects to a tee and from the tee to the brake cylinders, 3/16" line is used.

Re: Brake line size?
Is there harm in building my back lines in 3/16? I read the other day that guys with rear discs sometimes have to rebuild their back lines down to 3/16 but will this push drums adequately?

Re: Brake line size?
Interesting thread man. I was just looking for answers for the same questions. One thing I noticed on my new parts is that the rear wheel cylinders take different size fittings and the rear hose that splits to the cylenders are both the same size. What's up with that?
