Brought my patina 69 swb home

I moved 3 hours away from where i had this stored. When me and the family went home fro christmas i decided to bring the truck home. I have had this truck for the last 17 years. The plan is to get this thing running agian lower it a little and drive it. Im thinking of doing a disc brake swap insted of putting money into the drum brakes. This was my first truck and am kind of excited to see it on the road agian. Im also thinkin of a shop name on the side and some old school pinstriping. What do you guys think?

I like it alot! Disks for sure. I'm likeing the patina thing lately so I wouldn't paint it, maybe some real horsepower would be cool.

Awesome! I would love to have this puppy. I guess I'm going to widen my search for one of these things. Disc brakes all the way.

Re: Brought my patina 69 swb home

Looks like to much work, you should just give it to me.

But seriously that's going to be an awesome truck, I drop it and leave the rest of the outside just how it is.

Thats a nice truck for sure. Thats exactly what I want to do with my 72 lb. Maybe you can bring it to a get together this spring. You already have a nice fleet and this is another great truck!

What does it have for "motorvation"?

It has an ol worn out 307 with a 4 speed. Right now im just trying to get it running with the motor thats in it. We made it home just before we got snow so no problems trailering it. The truck has been sittin on the trailer for the last week. It was nice enough to get it unloaded today.
Here are some motor and interior shots.

Re: Brought my patina 69 swb home

Oh, and it's originally Med green .. and a 4 speed ?! Wow.

I wouldn't even wash it man !! I'd just sit it on the ground, detail the engine up some (maybe) and drive it till the wheels fall off. I would love to have that truck.

5/7 drop and some 20" Coys w/fatties would be killer on it though !!

Another cool truck?
I vote 5-lug conversion, 4.5/6 drop and some old school "straight spoke" Torq Thrust O's.

Re: Brought my patina 69 swb home

Nice truck and you already have history with it and that is cool. If you are planning to leave it standard it wouldn't be that hard to install a Tremec or T5 5 speed overdrive trans from an 80'0 or 90's truck in your truck which would eliminate the granny low gear.

Re: Brought my patina 69 swb home

Thanks for all the replies. Im thinking of a 4/6 drop as well. as for the wheels i was thinking of taken the slots of my cheyenne super and puttin them on this truck. What kind of rpms do you guys think this truck would wrap with 3.08's? Truck currently has 4.11's in it. Here's a pic of my slots.

Re: Brought my patina 69 swb home

I found an online calculator and if you run 235/75 15 tiires at 65 mph you should be turning about 2300 rpms with 3:08's. With the 4:11's although I didnt calculate it I'm sure you be over 3000 rpms at that speed.

I dont think ill be leaving the 4:11's in it. I think that is to low geared fo just a driver. Thanks for checkin that out for me. I think that i will prolly end up running 275/60/15's on the back and 255/60/15's on the front.
