Re: Best vendor for parts
I have almost always used classic. Alot of the parts are being made by the same people and resold by multiple companies, so to me it comes down to price, shipping costs, and service because the quality seems to be the same across the board. Their are some products that are being made by different companies and you don't know who's product your getting when you buy it. For example, front fenders are made by tri-plus, dynacorn, and one other company that I can't remember. But then I bought inner fenders from GoodMark and they came with Tri-Plus stickers on them, and of course they or the front fenders don't fit. The only exception I have to using classic is if I can get something from MAR-K, I will choose them because their stuff has been as good as original or better and made in America, although they sell mostly bed related items. The front panel I got was heavy gauge, straight, just awesome. The side trim kit was very nice as well. The bedwood kit was beautiful, and alot of their stuff ships free.

Re: Best vendor for parts
I third Classic Parts.
Classic Parts and LMC are both in Kansas City, so my experience has been with the guys at the counter. LMC has a bigger catalog and is only 10 minutes from the house. But but if I have the choice, I'll drive across town to Classic Parts. They at least act like they're glad to see you when you walk in the door. Plus they have cooler trucks in the showroom!

Re: Best vendor for parts
Pretty much all my 60-66 stuff comes from Classic Parts. I've only bought two items from LMC because they are the only company that carries them - the clear dome light lens, and molded door/mirror mounting pads. Both were excellent items. I've read about a lot of unhappy customer service issues with LMC, but my two buys were a good experience.

Re: Best vendor for parts
LMC has to pay for all the advertising they do. I think they are expensive, but it is always a game to get the parts at the best price no matter what vendor you choose.

Classic Parts is what I've used.
Bought a few things from LMC, but as others stated, they aren't the cheapest... . |

Re: Best vendor for parts
I have always gone with Classic Industries. They are only about a hour away from my house and sometimes I feel a little safer not buying the lowest cost part and there customer service is great.

Re: Best vendor for parts
CLASSIC PARTS... Great on prices, and they have always shipped my orders immediately. But there is also a company in CA that has great prices and items you cant get from LMC or Classic Parts like power steering brackets for a L6 (alot of ppl are looking for). Ill have to find my brochure to post the name.

Re: Best vendor for parts
I have used LMC, Brothers Trucks and Classic Industries. As far as I am concerned, all of the products are the same quality. I find LMC the most expensive usually, Brothers prices are comparable to Classic Industries and all have pretty good customer service.
One thing to watch out for with Classic Industries is that they will list certain items before they have actually produced them and you will automatically get placed on back order. You have to call and talk to someone to find out your never going to get that part. I usually make a list, price compare between all three companies, and then order as needed depending on cheapest price.

Re: Best vendor for parts
I don't buy from Brothers because every time I make a list and compare prices, they are more expensive and their shipping is always the highest on top of it. Classic ships to Idaho cheaper than Brothers does from California.

Re: Best vendor for parts
I put in a big order to LMC which included a chrome grill for my 66. After reciving the order I fund that the chrome grill had a little area of chromeing in a small area. Called LMC about it they asked for some pictures. The next few days another grill showed up which is alot better and they don't want the old one back. To me that's good service after the sale.
