Air cleaner mounting

Was looking at my carb today and am wondering if something is broken off or just missing? I don't see a threaded hole for a missing post. Is there a part that I need to mount the stock air cleaner body? Thanx!

Re: Air cleaner mounting

yes there is a part missing..... it is a flat bar that goes in the top of the carb. It slides under the notches you can see in the top of the carb. the bar is helds in by two small roll pins. the bar actually looks like a small piece of channel iron

Thanx! any chance someone sells replacements? Guess I could just go with a chrome clamp on type if not.

Re: Air cleaner mounting

What the determining factor is if the ears on the top of the carb that hold the flat bar are still there. They commonly break off. Ill see if I have any spares laying around. Try and get a pic of the top of the carb for me. Here is a pic...look right behind the choke flap and you can see the mounting bracket.
