Rear seat on a 70 blazer?? Please help!
The rear seat on my 1970 blazer has offset rear legs. In other words the four rear legs are not evenly spaced. From left to right the fist leg seems correct and the second is slightly to the left and the third is about two inches to the left and the fourth is correct leaving a large space between the third and fourth. I took the seat cover off the rear seat and found that this is correct for this seat. It was made this way and the floor on my blazer, even though I just replaced it, it was the same pattern. Has anyone seen this before. Is this a suburban seat maybe?? I wanted some input before I put things back togather. Thank You.........

Re: Rear seat on a 70 blazer?? Please help!
The rear seats could have either two or four rear legs. If they had two, the seat belts were mounted to the outside legs and directly to the floor. If they had four, the seat belts were mounted to the legs.

Re: Rear seat on a 70 blazer?? Please help!
Yes sir, I understand. My 1970 blazer rear seat is just like the top two except; instead of the rear four (4) feet being even and equally spaced in those pictures mine are as I said; Left to Right the first is correct (far left) the second is about 1 inch closer then equal the third is about 1.5 inches closer leaving a much larger gap between the third and forth. I know this is confusing but I'm at work and am unable to get any pictures right now. I removed the cover and this is the way its made. The bottom support bar has the dimples with the reinforced half moon supports where the legs bolt on. I just don't understand why mine are that way.??? Thanks for your help. Josh

Do they line up properly with the factory threaded bolts in the floor?
I've never seen them like that. Pictures will help if you can get some.

Id pull the two middle legs and bolt the belts to the floor like the 3rd and 4th pic. Maybe those were added on to that seat.

I can't recall when I bolted the 4 on my rear seat, but are there left and right ends and middles?

Re: Rear seat on a 70 blazer?? Please help!
yes sir, they did line up properly with the original bolt pattern in the blazer. Everything fits and it had the original seat cover on it so I know that the legs haven't been messed with. I bought the Blaze from the original owner with all the paper work and title that shows 41K miles. I guess Ill just put everything back together the way it was since it will work. I was just curious way it was this way. This forum has been a great tool box for me to get information from. Thanks to everyone for the help. Josh

That's weird, but it looks like the yellow one in Bouncy's post is the same. To be honest, that would bug me and I'd do what BBrendal said...it's actually the way my rear seat is, but only because I only have 2 legs...however, the other 2 holes in the tub are evenly spaced.

Re: Rear seat on a 70 blazer?? Please help!
The bolt holes for in the bed for the seat belts are different than the holes for the legs. My truck (3rd & 4th pictures) only has the two legs. My first Blazer had 4 legs, but it was so long ago that they could have been positioned as you mentioned and I just didn't notice.
If I look at the yellow and green ones I posted, the legs could be positioned as you mentioned, but just not noticeable with the lighting. Someone has got to have a seat with 4 legs that can take some measurements.

Re: Rear seat on a 70 blazer?? Please help!
My back seat has four legs measures like this 13 1/2" from drivers side to second leg 15" from second to third and 13 1/2" from third to fourth.(measured from center of bolt head) I believe it has the original mounting plate under bed, but the odd part with mine is that the flat plate on the inside bed floor was only on the middle two. There was no sign of these plates or welded areas on the out side two. Maybe not the original seat and the seat belts monunt in middle on the flat plates not sure.

After mounting mine I believe you guys are right. It look exactly like the first, yellow one. I feel better knowing that this is correct for the blazer. Thanks for all the input and information!
