front axle question....
i have a 1972 chevy suburban w/ 6 lug K10 axles on it and just yesterday my front right hub got really HOTT! someone told me my barrings were out... it had a weird smell to it too... it happened when i had it locked up in 4 high. if anyone has any advice or good pointers to look at to check for the problem, that would be very helpful! DIAGRAMS would be a major plus!!! tyvm!!!

First thing...don't drive it anymore until you get it fixed...a friend of mine waited too long and he had to use a torch to cut the bearings out. It does sound like your bearings are shot,but there may be more that needs to be replaced depending on how hot it got. You'll have to take it apart to see what needs replacing. The haynes manual has a good diagram. I've heard you can buy a complete hub assembly but I have not been able to confirm that. Too bad you are not closer, I would help you out.
