"Counter man" parts catalog

My for 1969 Canadian Pontiac I have a GM dealer parts book that has proven invaluable over the years... scanned it in as PDF and made it searchable. I just lucked across it at a swap meet 20 years ago.

I've looked for one for my truck (1970 GMC) but have not come across a reprint. I have the shop manual and assembly manual, which are great, but sometimes when you want to know what part you need, or if a part is different between two applications, the parts book really helps.

Anyone know if they're available anywhere, or if there's an electronic copy? Usually the cover several years, so anything that covers 1970 would be great for me!

Or if not, anyone know what its actually called? Searching for "truck parts catalog" gets a lot of wrong hits...

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, search under the following:
-GM Parts Catalogue ( and 'parts division' and 'Chevrolet' and 'trucks' and 'GMC' )
You have to make sure you use the GM term in the search or you could get a reprint.
I don't know if they ever actually repop those...and they do come up occasionally but go for bigger bucks.
I lucked into a few many years ago and I always have guys wanting to borrow them....and I had to chase the last guy down after he kept a few of them for almost a year....yikes, glad to get them back.
Good Luck.

Is yours 3-ring binder style? Maybe I could talk you into sending it to me and I'd scan it in, make it into a searchable PDF, and send it back...

Re: "Counter man" parts catalog

The one you probably want is a Chassis and Body Parts Cataloge 1947-1972 1/2 thru 1 ton Trucks also labeled 72TL.I lucked out aand found hard copy at a swap meet. They tend to draw a good price. The last one I saw was a few years ago and they wanted $75 for it.I know someone has posted a CD version is available but I don't remember who/where.The originals came bound paperback but are also punched for use in a 3 ring binder. You might try searching E-bay or a NW CL search.I don't think it's reprinted in hardcopy.Sorry but I'm not willing to part with mine.

Thanks for the link. I'd like to think when someone comes on here for info, they consider that others would like to learn what they did as well.

Re: "Counter man" parts catalog

Thanks as well! I was batch processing 65000 pages of catalog PNGs (rescale, resize, despeckle and deskew) and it had made it to about 2000 since my original post. The link above saved me all that work!
