More Lift with tubular a arms ???

Hello together,

i do have a camaro clip in my chevy pickup...

So far i installed some slam specialties bags in the front...

Now i have the prob that i cannot use the whole lift of the bags because the upper control arm is touching the frame ...

I am not sure if this is a common problem with the original control arms and a air ride set up in a camaro clip ..??

But what do u think about using upper tubular a arms ??? So i could lift the truck even more without touching the frame with the upper arms.

Hope u understand my problem ...

Thanks for ur suggestions
Regards from Germany

Which Camaro clip did you use first or second gen? I do not want to assume anything without seeing pictures...

Re: More Lift with tubular a arms ???

Any of the tubular arms I would have to offer would not correct that issue... It appears in the pic the mounts are to tall... Is that a ss6, or re 6?

Re: More Lift with tubular a arms ???

It is a SS6 Bag....

i could reduce the size of the mounts but with the reduction i am able to drop the truck even more on the ground....
The limited point is the upper control arm..
With using some control arms like this, i could lift it up a bit more.....????

I guess to do it in the right way, i have to raise up the body of the truck...

Thanks Achim

Re: More Lift with tubular a arms ???

You may get a an 1/8", 1/4" more clearence but not much more... That bag is designed to be driven at 5-6" tall at ride height beyound that is over extesion and should only be done for clearence, curbs, driveways, trailers etc... if you're not achieving the ride height you need with out over extending the bag you may need to modify the clip, if this is the case the clip was installed incorectly.. Air suspension like anything else has limitations, and taking it beyound them can and will cause failure...

with my old firestone bags i needed to ride with 115 to 125 psi

Re: More Lift with tubular a arms ???

pressure is not relevant you are going after a height, so if it takes 60psi or 120psi the bag needs to be 5.5-6" at ride height.... Less pressure does not make for a better ride this a common misconception.
