Picked up a '72 Blazer
with 350, 4 speed, and factory A/C. Truck is bone stock except for some ugly aftermarket chrome rims and funky aftermarket steering wheel. Has some rot in the rocker panels and a spot in the left rear quarter, but I haven't found any elsewhere. The rocker boxes, body mounts, wheel wells, floors, bed, door hinges, etc. all look very nice. It does need some TLC. The A/C and heater blower doesn't work, speedo and water temp gauge don't work. Needs a grille. The f/g top looks kind of ratty. Any suggestions as to how to repair or improve the look?
Truck runs well, steers and stops straight, shifts fine. Initially, I'd like to find an original grille and steering wheel. I guess start looking for used parts for sale? Any other sources? Next, determine if I can tackle the rot repair myself. Thanks! |

Re: Picked up a '72 Blazer
Yeah, fellas, I'll post some pics soon. It's dark when I get home from work and no time to take pics in the morning during the work week. Hopefully, this weekend.
In the meantime, any thoughts on replacement steering wheels, used grilles, etc? Thanks! |

Re: Picked up a '72 Blazer
Looks like a solid base. Grills you can find at swap meets or on Craigs's list, or this board. Because of their age, they usually have some dings. You can buy a new repop inner and outer for about $450. You are correct on the temp sender location. Have fun with your new toy,
