Re: Please help!!!

More details of what you are doing would help us to help you.

motor in truck, sitting on the crossmember?, which bolts are you trying to start? mount to engine, or mount to perch on crossmemer?

tips like using a smaller diameter bolt to ensure you have holes lined up, or did you clean the treads of the hole and bolt and ensure bolt threads easy..
If you are not able to get the long bolt thru mount and cradle, use floor jack (carefully) to move engine around until holes are lined up....

???

Re: Please help!!!

try loosening mount to frame bolts to allow wiggle room. get pry bar, try a few creative words, lift engine ever so little, send wife and kids away and before you know it it will finally work. i pulled oil pan twice in one week because of cheap gasket.

Re: Please help!!!

So I finally got it bolted in! Then I tried to bolt the flywheel to converter and realized the converter was bound up against fly and had it flexed forward. I hope it didn't bend it. It looks like it went back to straight, sure don't want to have to change it at this point.

Make sure that converter is all the way in!
Did you turn the converter onto the trans all the way in ?

Re: Please help!!!

I would be more worried about the pump on the trans. If that converter is not all the way back you might have just screwed the pump up.

Terry B is correct, tightening the motor down without the converter properly engaged can break the front pump (I've done it ) When putting the converter on it has multiple engagement points, the last one is the two slots on the snout of the converter (the bit that the seal rides against). After making the initial stab just slowly rotate the converter while pressing in on it and it will clunk in about another 1/4 to 1/2 inch. No worries about the flexplate that I am aware of.

Also if you dont want to pull the whole thing back out to seat the converter get a couple of bolts about 4 inches long and thread them in the bottom two engine to trans holes, remove the rest, unbolt the rear trans mount and slide the trans back to gain enough space to spin the converter. I've done this on several cars I expect it would work on the trucks as well.
