71 Sierra grande restoration

Hey there forum. It's my first day here, and I wanna just give some info on what I'm doing. Ya see, there's this 71 Sierra grande long bed fleet side at my grandmas, and I just think its absolutely beautiful... Well, will be. :P and I know I'm gonna need some help with figuring out original parts, and where to get them, so I decide this forum. Anyways, my truck is a Sierra grande lwb fleet side, with a factory 400, and turbo 400 transmission. Not only that, but it also has the bucket seats and tilt steering, as well as a/c. From what my dad told me, this truck has every option minus the tach and vacuum gauges. It was medium blue, and the interior is mostly in wonderful condition for sitting outside for years with no windshield and a crappy tarp covering it. Pretty much it just needs tidied up. What I want to know for now is how much could this truck be worth with a basic restoration? I'll get pics up ASAP, but that may be Thursday or later.

Being a hard loaded Big block Sierra Grande, probably not much. So if you want to bring it by my shop I will take it off your hands. Just kidding, sounds like a very cool truck. I would be difficult to say what its worth without seeing it. It depends on what a “Basic restoration” means but anywhere from $5000-25000+.

Re: 71 Sierra grande restoration

Sounds alot like my truck. It will be worth a little less than what u put into it...but thats the way it goes with almost any vehicle. Build it for YOU, not many guys turn a profit restoring these things. Have fun with it, thats where the value is.

Haha! It actually snows somewhat often in Texas, at least in the panhandle. And the funny thing is, we're in a drought, and last summer it was about 112 every day. :/

Re: 71 Sierra grande restoration

Trying to get a plan started, should I go ahead and get a tach and vaccum dash kit, or just leave it as is?
