Lowering a 71 properly
I have a 1971 half ton short box that I want to drop. Can I get away with cutting a coil out of the back to achive this? What do new lowering springs cost? The front will be done with altered A-arms done by a machine shop. Thanks for any info.

you will get a better ride out of lowered springs than cutting them. if you got the bucks to do altered a-arms, then you should have enough to get lowering springs.

A new pair of matched lowering springs are a much better way to go for the rear of the your truck, deletes the hassle of trying to cut, install (hope), cut, install, (hope).

I have some 1 1/2" front drop springs for sale. Early Classic Enterprises ... new ... never on road ... I decided to go with air bags so I don't need them.
Let me know if you might be interested ... |

The altered A-arms were given to me by a friend. So it sounds like don't waste time chopping rear springs. Cool thanks
