Dumps like a truck

Hope this is the right section... well anyways here goes, my dad has had a 71 gmc ton dump truck for about 20 years and its been a little bit neglected so we decided to do a little tlc and the well we have had the typical problems plus some others where the previous owner had not fixed things the right way. this truck is still gonna be a work truck but so some of the things we would do on our show car restos we are skipping out on... basically we are fixing a few problems and doing a scuff and shoot. here is a before and a few in progress shots... will take more later and along the way

-weld up any unused holes for a good clean look

Re: Dumps like a truck

I haven’t updated this in a while but lots of progress has been made on the truck. Come to find out the cab, doors, and fenders weren’t hardly worth fixing and if we would have bought new stuff it would probably be done by now but this is a budget build so we fixed the junk we had laying around. The truck is now painted and we are working on cleaning up the motor and Trans and getting the frame painted. This has been one hell of a scuff and shoots!

Re: Dumps like a truck

Thanks! Never in a million years would I have thought that a gray with no metallic would have looked good but Dad proved me wrong. I think that paint scheme might look good on a swb fleet side…… maybe a new project in the works

Re: Dumps like a truck

That is a sweet truck. I have been looking at a 65 C30 1ton with a flat bed. That is very inspiring.
