73 instrument clusters

I am having a hard time finding a instrument cluster for a 73 truck. Will a later model cluster work? or are there any reasonable priced custom clusters out there?
Thanks

You'll have to re-pin the connector to match the later cluster.

Brothers sells replacement gages and printed circuits for the early clusters. The only thing I think you can not get is a mechanical oil pressure gage. If you want to use newer gage's you have to re-wire due to the amp/volt gage and electric oil pressure.

What I am looking for is the plastic housing that all the gauges mount to, it is kind of a light blue green color and mine is falling apart. Haven't found anyone who sells this part any more. OEM or aftermarket. Custom clusters are kind of spendy. I'm saving for body and paint first.

Re: 73 instrument clusters

I have 4 clusters in front of me '73, '79, '82, and '84. They all are close to the same and it looks as if the Gage's can be swapped to a newer housing. The only thing you should have to do is drill a hole for the mechanical oil gage to fit through as long as you keep a 70's cluster. If you swap to 80's housing you will need the 80's speedo due to change in housing. If you swap everything over remember to use the 73's printed circuit.

I have a couple that will work. One is out of a '74, the other is 76-77. I can set it up with a clock (which probably doesn't work) or not.
