12" rims

I've been looking around for some 15" -17" x 12" (W) Rims for my 71 SWB 4x4. I want to run fat tires on this rebuild. The only thing that I see is 17" - 22 x 8" - 10". I know Mickey Thompson makes the Bullet holes (Classics), looking for something different. Any ideas?

Re: 12" rims

Eaton and Bart's both make 15x12 rims. Just in steel I think, though.

Re: 12" rims

6 lug. I've ran weld in the past, just hard to find these days. I'm looking for polished aluminum or chrome steel. Would like to find 17x12 / chevy six lug. Here is a picture of the look that I'm trying recreate.

Re: 12" rims

I just picked up 2 set of weld wheels 6 and 8 lugs , both are 12" typhoon. You can still find them if you look. I have been looking for some Mountin Crushers and always been a day late.

Weld started making wheels again but they look odd.

Re: 12" rims

David,

I'm finding 8 luggers galore up this way. Do you have a style in mind? I'm actually running 15 x 12 Eagles (very simliar to the MT Classics) on my '69 K10.

Re: 12" rims

I've seen alot of 8 luggers too - weld racing. I run weld racing, 17x10 (Mountian Crushers) - 35's on my K20. MT classics - 15x10 - 33's on my K5. Just trying to find something different. Evan Walker has a nice pattern - 10" is as wide as they go.

Re: 12" rims

I think you can get the Bart's in chrome and in 6 lug. I had a set of 15x12 chrome Barts 20 years ago with 35 14.5 15 Ground Hawgs on them. What a horrible combination that was! One of them had 16 oz of weights to balance it. (yes, a whole pound!)

Re: 12" rims

Thanks
I have to remove the center cap to engage the lockout........ But since I wouldn't drive it in the rain I doubt it will see any mud and with all the salt in MO it doesn't get a chance to play in the snow

Re: 12" rims

bart does make 15x12 or 14 chrome rims for rather cheap but they are steel and heavy. i bought a used set of 16.5x12 bart 8 lugs the other day in white. picture is with 38x15.50 16.5s mounted. Second picture was a brainstorm to mount the stock 3/4 ton hubcaps in the barts for a wide factory look.

Well, Oldie, but Sweet! Not sure I would go that big, just to retain some driveability. Those big tires put alot of stress on the brearings and steering.

I'm have a 4" SkyJ lift. Would like to run fat 35's / trim the fenders in the front. 4:10/11 gears, crossover steering. Got most everything to start the build. Just starting to look at bonspeed wheels. Custom cut. Crazy expensive...
