Brand new member
Hello to my fellow AD Truck friends! I am new here and it looks like this is the right place for me to mingle. I am in the middle of my first frame off resto mod with my 1950 5 window. I bought it already clipped with a 71 nova front end and same rear end. I finally found a fab shop that I am happy with and they are assisting me with moving the motor back and setting my trans crossmember. After having Chevy/GMC trucks my whole life, I believe I have found the motherlode with my 50' and I am very excited to comment on threads and start some of my own. I do realize this is the best place to ask questions and increase my knowledge of AD trucks.
Excited about 2012!

Re: Brand new member
I looked on CL for like ever before I found this one. I was lucky, this truck had a paint job and body work done about twenty years ago and was slated for a resto when I bought it. It has all orginal guages, seat, mirrors, headliner, grill, etc. and they had already added a 71 Nova Clip and rebuilt all the bushings. I fugured I was money a head to start at this point. I have only had to replace the floor pans and cowls. So we tore it down sanded and etch primed, chassis paint and started putting her back together. I want to make this a daily driver so I got a 1980 truck 350 that had been rebuild I found at our local truck junk yard and found a 700R out of a 92 Silverado. So my plans under the hood are nothing fancy just very maintainance friendly. I have added a few more pics. Trying to stay as stock looking as possible! Gonna have some fun with this one!

Re: Brand new member
As a matter of fact I do have a few Q's! Can you recommend a non keyed tilt steering column, booster-master cylinder and rear gas tank. I am looking to make these purchases soon. I dont mind the IDIDIT or Lokar aftermarket stuff just looking to see what everyone else has done. My 71 Nova clip is a rear steer.
Any help or recommendations will be appreciated!
