Allignment issues
Recently I believe I must have damaged my driver side steering component from hitting the side of the wheel into a landscape box. The alignment is pretty much dead on, yet the outside of the tire is chaffing and wearing when I make a hard turn to the right.
Anyone have an idea on what happened their? Is it a bent control arm, or other component? Which would be the weakest link?

Re: Allignment issues
I would assume when you say dead on you are saying it doesn't feel bad. I would get it checked. The weak link is probably the tie rod sleeve.

Re: Allignment issues
The truck had an alignment done to it and it was just about perfect, and yes the tie rod sleeve was damaged, would that be what is causing the outer side of the wheel to chafe?

Re: Allignment issues
Was the alignment done before or after your episode? If it was done after I hope they didn't charge you for an alignment knowing it had a bad part on it. I hope the sleeve took the brunt of the damage. Swap out the sleeve and have it aligned again. If they aligned it after knowing the tie rod was messed up they should do the next one no charge.
