How to match interior colors?

I was about to order some Colorbond from LMT, but the choice of blues amounts to "blue". Since there's more than one shade of blue in my interior, if they only have one blue, it's wrong for about three different things.

It's for my 1970 GMC Sierra Grande. It's blue, but the seats/headliner/doorpanels are lighter than the console, so there's at least two different shades of blue.

In GM parlance, I believe I need "M14 Bright Blue" and "M15 Dark Blue", but I can't find any cross-reference of these into the SEM or Colorbond interior colors.

Does anyone know where I might find such a cross-reference that will list the color codes I need for interior pieces? Ideally, that lists them for some product I can buy, such as SEM or Colorbond.

I know I could take the pieces to a PPG shop and go through color charts, but that still wouldn't get me to a vinyl die or interior paint!

Thanks!
Dave

Re: How to match interior colors?

The Truck Shop has the headliner and dash pad in medium blue and dark blue. I bought the medium blue dash pad and realized after I installed it, I should have bought the dark blue. Too late now.

Re: How to match interior colors?

I put this together after some searching. Short version of the story, though, is NO ONE lists more than one color for a particular interior, so even if that matches the seats perfectly you're pretty much on your own for matching consoles, dash pads, etc. At least in terms of paint...

SEM Corvette

68-70 Bright Blue 4738 Corvette Trim 411-412
68-70 Bright Met Blue 4846
70-75 Dark Blue 4848 Corvette Trim 412

You might try contacting the manufacturer.

Re: How to match interior colors?

Have you checked with your local paint shop? We had to replace the interior quarter panel on a friends Bronco II. We took the ashtray into the local paint supplier and I believe they custom mixed dye for it. I wasn't in spray bomb form though. We sprayed a light gray panel to match the burgundy interior panel and it came out perfect. It wasn't as cheap as a ready mixed spray bomb but the results were worth it.

Re: How to match interior colors?

I take an interior piece into my paint supplier to have them scan it and make me a spray can of vinyl/plastic dye. I don't know anywhere to find codes for vinyl trim colors. It costs under $15
