sons dropped 69
I had posted earlier that my son bought a 69 last sat and here is what we finished um this morning. Dropped the truck 4.5/6 using ECE products. The truck already had 5 lug and front disc brakes. So in the last 30 days me both bought trucks and got'em both dropped........mine is a 71

Re: sons dropped 69
Hotrob72,
Nicely done on both trucks. We are considering dropping our 72. I want to stay with the 15" wheels and rubber. What did you use for the front? Coils, spindles, both? Thanks, MrBlue

Re: sons dropped 69
Well it sounds like my son is going to sell his 69 SW truck. He did get the bedside in primer and rebuild the whole front end...and buy a bunch of new parts. New bumpers front/rear, windsheild, rear glass, lights & more. Corners are solid although passenger rocker is bad & comes with a new pair of rockers as well.
I will try to get a few updated pics next week and post it for sale.

Re: sons dropped 69
Well...........plans changed and my kid and I moved forward with his 69. New bedside installed and in prime, pulled nose off and pulled engine to reseal and paint. I have never done any metal work or welding but hey, its not my truck so........pasenger rocker had a hole on outside and also needed some repair inside as well.

Re: sons dropped 69
Then it was on to the driver side....didnt look to bad but had to replace part of floor and inner rocker along with big section of floor where your feet go. not perfect but progress is good.

Re: sons dropped 69
How would you describe the ride quality?
I'm very curious how the ECE drop rides. I am looking for a 'performance' ride, nothing crazy hard, but I definitely don't want a waterbed. But I would much prefer to error on the side of firm than comfortable. Both trucks look absolutely great! I'm loving the two-tone. |
