In dash speaker installation on '66 GMC
I'm looking to mount a center speaker under the dash in the factor location. My main question is whether i need some sort of speaker mounting bracket since my truck orginally did not come with a radio.
I have purchased a reproduction radio and reproduction speaker that supposedly will fit in the factor mounting location, but I'm struggling to see how I attach the speaker. Any help would be most appreciated! |

Re: In dash speaker installation on '66 GMC
I believe there are 4 holes in the dash, two on each side of the speaker hole. Two on the window side, two on the dash side.
I'm not sure about the length, diameter or thread of the bolts tho'. Hey, yer in luck, I checked my notes and found this thread here... it's a start: under dash speakers If ya need some kick panels... Home-Made Speaker Kick Panels by Frizzle Fry -W |

You will probably have to buy one used.

In my 65, I mounted 2 4" speakers to a board then mounted that.
