Fuel valve bypass

I have an 85 chevy with dual tanks, just an old work truck. For years we have just used the right tank. Out of the blue truck quit running. Found that I was getting water in the fuel line. Ive found the truck is pulling off the left tank. I don't care about having dual tanks and am trying to get by as cheap as possible. Can I just bypass the crossover valve by connecting the pump supply directly to the right tank supply and the same to the return lines to make it pull straight off the right tank?

Re: Fuel valve bypass

Yes, just make sure the valve is selected to the right tank so the fuel gauge will work.
