Need brake help ASAP

My truck is currently on jack stands because I apparently didn't do enough research. I have a 68 that I converted from manual drum to power disc up front. The rubber lines would not connect to the metal lines, and my proportioning valve lines would not connect. I ordered pre bent lines from LMC for a 1972, and they are no where near close at all. Did I get bad parts or is there something that I am missing here? I need to know as soon as possible so I can get this thing out of my buddies garage.

The same thing happened to me. I ordered the non power brake kit by accident.

According to this thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=456889 you need a conversion brake hose.

I think you need a disc/drum proportioning valve too, have you installed that?

I have the disc/drum prop valve off a 72 that had power brakes.

Re: Need brake help ASAP

The 71-72 disc brake steel line kits are bent totally different from the 67-70 drum brake trucks.
The 71-72 steel lines are routed to the front side of the crossmember,... where the 67-70 drum brake steel lines exit on the back side of the crossmember.

You have 2 choices.
1) install the 71-72 lines and add a tab on the front side of the crossmember.
These tabs can be welded or bolted on.
All you need is a designated spot to connect the steel line to the rubber brake hose.

2) You can also run 67-70 drum brake steel lines, with conversion hoses connected at the stock location. (behind the crossmember)

Either way,... you will need to bend up a set of new steel lines to connect to the master cylinder.
Or buy a COMPLETE 71-72 steel line kit that goes all the way to the M/C.

You will need a disc brake M/C and Prop valve.
