Do you think this 90 Burb is worth it?
Hey guys, I've been looking for a family ride for my wife since it's going to be a while before I get her 76 done. I found a 90 Burb 1/2 ton 4x4 on the local CL that has new tires, is pretty loaded, has real decent red interior with buckets and console. The bad news is it needs an engine. Does it look like it's worth $900? It isn't really rusty, the front bumper is straight and in the back. It only has 142k on it. It needs a good scrubbing as it has tree sap and mold or something on it here and there. I can't make up my mind. I'm having issues finding a decent engine, so IDK. I had thoughts of putting the drive line from my 76 under it, but the whole idea of this is to get some thing running quickly. Give me some input please. Thanks Ryan.

Do it, engines can be had/found. That burb looks to be in good condition for our area.

Re: Do you think this 90 Burb is worth it?
The interior alone could probably get half that back it looks to me it has a rare rear heat and air combo if dash pictures are correct or rest defrost id buy it take it and convert mine to a silverado inside also try car-part.com or eBay for tbi motors as they're cheap or assuming its still in there and complete just buy a cheap summit motor for like the 1200$ they are and put the tbi stuff on top of it but that's just my opinion still a great find wish I could've got it lol

Re: Do you think this 90 Burb is worth it?
Looks nice on the inside and pretty straight. I'm thinking an engine, lots of soap and elbow grease, and a Maaco paint job. Keep it gloss white to keep the costs down and debadge it. It'd look like a new truck for not much coin.
EDIT to add: Barn doors - that'd seal the deal for me. |

Re: Do you think this 90 Burb is worth it?
Thanks for the input guys! I did buy it and we picked it up yesterday. We also went and listened to an engine for it and I put a deposit down on it. So when he gets it pulled, I'll go pick it up. I'll get some better pics of it on the trailer later. The PO said the rear air and heat is inop, but I think I'll try to get it back operating again. Atleast the a/c portion right now.
