'59 short Fleetside 1 piece driveshaft??

So I bought this '59 fleetside and the PO said he had the Patrick's Truck differential upgrade. It's finally come up to the front of my projects so I crawl under it today and see a one piece driveshaft, maybe 3" in diameter. Now I'm happy it doesn't have the mousey two piece but I thought all the 235 apaches had the 2pc. Rear looks big with a rear cover, no pumpkin.
Anybody heard of a one piece or was this an unusual upgrade?

Short wheel base had a 1 piece drive shaft
long wheel base had a 2 piece drive shaft
My 59 lwb 3800 panel truck has a 2 piece drive shaft from the factory
