confirm my backspace please...
Hi , im ready to pull the trigger on a set of rims for my 70 stepside and am just wanting to check that im getting the right backspacing for the truck..
15 x10 with 5.5 backspace 15 x 8 with 5.25 backspace.. is this right? im looking for a wheel setup like the 'hickman truck' in the 'patina' trucks thread. Gav |

Personally, I would never rely on someone else's measurement. Especially if the wheels are custom ordered. Wheels are just one part. Tire size and cross section width will come into play when determining if they will rub or not.

Re: confirm my backspace please...
There might be. Are you taking in to account that a 10" wide wheel is really 11" wide? The lips ad an extra 1" to the overall width. I know I'm running a Corvette ralley up front and it has a 4" BS. 5.25 seems like a lot for the front but that might be inaccurate. I"m running 15x14s in the back so I can't help you there! lol
Give it time and others will jump in. |
