66 c10 questions?

i want to convert my 66 c10 over to a dually. anyone ever thought or seen it done. ive looked on here and have seen them with the bed all done up. not really in the direction im going. it has 73-87 5 0n 5 setup now so i was wondering if it would be the same for dually setups.(running i guess 8x6.5 )i guess my question is will this bolt up to a 66 frame?

Re: 66 c10 questions?

Most anything can be done if you have the skills, time and money to make it happen. To convert to a dually rear, you will need to change over to either a 10.5 FF 14 bolt or a Dana 70.....a Dana 60 would work also. Of course these will have the 8 x 6.5 wheel bolt pattern. Typically the '60-'66 dually's had leaf springs, but you could keep the trailing arms and panhard bar. Either way there will be cutting and welding involved.

Re: 66 c10 questions?

Thanks for the reply. I was just trying to figure out if it would be bolt on just like the 73-87 pattern. The only difference being your using c30 instead of c10. I figured the back would be the easiest since im losing the bed and putting a flat bed on it.

i dont know if anyone has any info on this but something like this truck only with one of those knapheide flatbeds on it. anybody think this would be too much weight on those coils.
