Opinions needed ECE Drop 2/4 or 4/6

Im in the market for an ECE kit. Im debating on whether to do a 2.5 spindle up front with a and 4" coil drop in the rear or a 4/6

Here is a pic of my rear. Sorry I dont have the front as the entire front clip is off the truck.
This is how the truck sits now. To my knowledge and im the 3rd owner after my dad handed it down, this hasnt been lowered at all. My guess is age old sagging as the truck sits somewhat level across it.

Tires are 235/75/15 with 6.5 rally's.
Anyone running the same size tired and the listed drops above? I have done several searches and cant really make up my mind.

4/6 all the way, in the end I think you will be much happier.

Re: Opinions needed ECE Drop 2/4 or 4/6

Are you guys replying have roughly the same size tires?
I want to be able to drive it, however I dont want a "slammed" look per say.
Missouri roads arent the greatest so if im too low, gonna have problems.

Another concern is long tube headers. 4/6 clear without any issues?

Trucks are looking great!

Jwall, what size rims are you running on those? Did you have to shave off your A-Arm? You running ECE Spindles as well?

4/6 will do the trick, 2/4 will leave you wanting to lower more...

They were 15x8's.
I did trim the lower A-Arm.
Yes, I used all ECE parts.

That truck was 2/4 dropped when I got it & it just wasnt low enough.

I like it a lot. I see 235/70/15's on 4/6 drop in my future.

Here's mine 4.5/6. 2.5 drop spindles. Little too low in the front. I'm going to put in 1in springs instead of the 2in shown.

That looks beautiful Jcfcamaro........I can see why you'd want to lift a tad in front. Either way looks great.

Re: Opinions needed ECE Drop 2/4 or 4/6

Fwiw the roads up here are pretty bad, so I asked a local vendor (scotts super trucks) what I should buy and not have any issues with bottoming etc and they suggested 2-4 drop.

2/4 is not nearly low enough and you will want more.. 4/6 is the way to go...

Re: Opinions needed ECE Drop 2/4 or 4/6

Shawn -- is your white truck notched at 5/7? How low can I take the GMC without a notch? I don't haul much of anything and I'm putting new wood in it soon, new strips, etc. So, I just won't be hauling refrigerators or anything. Is there any room left at all on a 7? Would you do 5" springs, 2" blocks? or 6/1 ? Are you guys running pinion shims at 6 / 7" rear drop?

Re: Opinions needed ECE Drop 2/4 or 4/6

I'm running something similar to the 2/4 drop you are considering, all ECE suspension components.

Front = 2.5" drop spindle + 1" lowering spring, 225/75/15 on 15x6.5
Rear = 4" drop springs, shock relocators, super track bar, 255/70/15 on 15x8

Ok no pinion shims. What I have out back is no notch yet but will def need one at some point, bottoms out on the rubber bump stops over bumps. I did have to cut the stops in half though. Out back I have 5" springs with 1" blocks. I also have CPP deluxe track bar so the plates add 1/4" so its up to a 6 1/4". I wanted it a little lower so I added another 5/8" steel plate for a total of 6 7/8" drop. I have about 1" clearance between the axle tubes and the frame. Drive it everyday but it WILL need a notch at some point. If I had to do it over again I would go 5" springs with the 2" blocks. I also am running 15" wheels.
