Re: 15x8 rallys?
Here's a pic of my 79 and 87 with 15X8 rally's with 275-60 fifteen inch tires. I personally think the Chevy rally is one of the most attractive factory wheels out there.
That's a really nice set on eBay, but I think you can find a nice set of rally's for a better price than what is listed in the ad. particularly when you include shipping. Wheels themselves around here can be bought for about 100-125 bucks for set of 4. The challenge is to find nice beauty rings and center caps, but if you look closely at swap meets and bone yards, there are some deals to be found. Just my opinion.

Re: 15x8 rallys?
Thanks. Tires on the black truck are Cooper Cobra's. If I had a do-over on the tires I would go with BF Goodrich, probably in a 255-70. Just a personal preference, but I went with what was most available at the time. You know how that goes............

Re: 15x8 rallys?
I like how the wheels look with those tires but isnt the BF Goodrich more expensive than the Cooper Cobras?

Re: 15x8 rallys?
I just bought a set this weekend, not as nice as the ebay ones but they came with centers and beauty rings, $125. I can sandblast these, paint 'em and they'll be close to perfect. My GF's son has a white Tahoe, I want to paint 'em white to match, so quality of the original paint wasn't as important as it may be for you.
Stockton Wheel probably doesn't get a whole lot more than the ebay guy's asking price for brand new powder coated wheels. |

Re: 15x8 rallys?
Come on dude...I found a pair at the LB swap meet...and occasionally you see them in the junkyards. There's always Pomona too. If you can't find them here, they can't be found...Get the ones off ebay, you'll get the whole set in one shot and be done with it, rather than scrounging for parts.

Re: 15x8 rallys?
I got a complete set at the pick n pull for $6.99 each. Came with trim rings and center caps. They need to be sandblasted and painted mind you... I would never pay $350 for a set unless they were NOS.

Re: 15x8 rallys?
It was just one of those pick n pulls. Steel rims are $6.99 each
There was a whole bunch of them there but I grabbed the ones with bald tires so I wouldnt get charged for the rubber. Extra center caps were $2 each, dog dish hubcaps were $2.50 each, rear cab trim was $7, Nice steering wheel was $14, a late 90's bench seat for $35... Pick n pulls are cheap because you have to remove your own parts. The rims were already off and just laying in the bed of the truck. There were a whole bunch of them inside an old chevy van also, but they didnt have trim rings. I got a whole truck load of parts for $75. $350 is a lot IF you dont have access to wrecking yards and someone who can sandblast and paint them for you. I'll be into mine for about $50 total after they are painted but Im doing it all myself. If you just need to buy some and bolt them on, then $350 would be ok I guess. They are damn good looking wheels. |

Re: 15x8 rallys?
$350 is a lot for a set of standard old run of the mill rally wheels. Sure a used set you find for $100 is going to need to be painted, but that is not a real big challenge to do yourself.

Re: 15x8 rallys?
Interestingly, I just took all the tires and wheels off mine to strip and repaint the 15X8 Ralleys and mont new BFG Radial T/A 275 60R 15. I am just going to sand them down and rattle can them. Dull aluminum Krylon works well. Eastwood seels the correct paint in a rattle can, as well.
This is the best tire wheel combo there is on these trucks. i was running 235 75R15 in the pics like in my avatar. will post pics when I am done. first is before, second is after.... (they will look better when I am through)

I wouldn't pay 350 for ebay rims. You just haven't found the right set yet. Check the craigslist in a 300 mile radius of you. Steve
