Spare tire size?

I've got 33x12.5 tires on my truck, and the spare is bouncing around in my bed because it won't fit where it's supposed to go underneath. Does anybody know what the biggest size tire is that can fit in there?

Would it be safe to use a tire smaller than a 33 for a spare?

You can set my truck on fire and roll it down a hill,
and I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe de Ville.

Re: Spare tire size?

For a 4 wheel drive vehicle you want the spare to be exactly what you have on all 4 corners already.

What if I have a missing front driveshaft?

Re: Spare tire size?

That is really irrelevant.

Do you have lockout hubs on the front?

Re: Spare tire size?

Belive it or not, I've got a 31x10.50 underneath on a 15x8 rally wheel. Fits between the rails side to side and no problem with the drop hitch. I'll throw some pictures up later if interested. I did get rid of the factory nut that has plastic threads inside though. Opted for double nutting it and throwing a spare wrench under the seat should I ever need it....
