Brought the 64 BBW home today finally

I bought this truck about 20 years ago, starting working on it (at work) , had to sell it, bought it back about a year ago. The person I sold it to never got around to finishing it.... It sat in a barn for about 15 years, then sat in the warehouse where I work for the last year. It has came home for the first time since I bought it 20 years ago. I am going to put it back together until I get my current project ( Grandpa's 65 C-10 ) done and can work on this one.

The V-8 was built for the 64, the 6 cylinder is in Grandpa's truck

It is pretty solid... I put new GM rockers on it 20 years ago, patched a rusty spot in each side of the cab floor by welding a panel on top of the rusty area . I will more than likely cut this out and do it right this time, the area wasn't
bad just a few spots where it was pitted nearly through so should be an easy fix the right way.

I had cleaned and painted the frame, did the brakes, put all new shafts in the a-arms, new ball joints, new factory coil springs, new shocks, new 3:40 gears, all new bearings, rebuilt a 327 with Edlebrock Elite goodies, new 600 Holley carb, rebuilt T-350 tranny, had all new seals and gaskets for the cab, new poly cab bushings......

The truck was down to just paint and body work when I lost my job 15 years ago and had to sell it mostly because I had no place to put it and I needed the money since I had no job.

Currently I dont know if I will keep it a long bed or cut it into a short bed since Grandpas truck is a long bed ( i have several beds long and short, wide and stepside... this would give me one of each ). It will definetely keep somewhat a stock appearance ( I just dont like the low low lowered look, or ratrod thing ). I want to re-assemble it mostly so I keep all the parts together and park it in the garage or carport for now.

I got everything back with it when I bought it back, so when the time comes It will go rather quickly..... nothing it quick about rebuilding a vehicle the right way, but alot of the hard stuff is done plus I had alot of extra parts to hand pick the best of from.

All of these trucks have a story to tell. It is great when you know it as well and can share it.

Got it unloaded and sitting in the driveway.... I will start putting it back together until I can restore it. 20 years of sitting has taken a beating on the ol' girl. Some will clean up with soap and water, other areas need to be blasted and painted again
