Are aftermarket grills and emblems non existant for a 59 GMC truck?
I have been looking for a long time to find a GMC grill and emblems for my truck. The previous owner had installed chevy apache items, but I want to go back to original. Anyone know anything on this any help would be much appreciated.

most GMC parts are going to have to be original... there just isnt a big enough aftermarket for 'em. you GMC peoples should be thankfull that Chevy and GMC interchanged as much as they did!! it allows most sheet metal to be found on the aftermarket, and as long as its as simple as changing the painted logo, some GMC specific parts can be found as well... but the majority of GMC-specific parts just didnt have enough demand to produce cost-effectivly...
sadly, just a bad case of supply vs. demand... Good luck on finding originals! you should be able to have some re-chromed if thats what your looking for. |

Yeah pretty much the general consensus. I have made contact with desert valley auto parts out of Casa Grande, AZ. They are basically a junk yard for old cars and trucks for old parts. They are a little pricey but where else are you going to go. Check out their site share the link http://www.dvap.com/ . I've driven there for some of my hard to find Cadillac parts before. Time and luck and money.. someday it will be on my side.. I hope lol

Re: Are aftermarket grills and emblems non existant for a 59 GMC truck?
I bought my 59 GMC back in 1989 and I have found very few trucks with a GMC grill and signal lights in them. I would think you could track down a grill as many have been replaced with Chevrolet ones, but expect to pay really big bucks if you want GMC signal lights in that grill! I saw an NOS set sell on eBay for $1350......
But there sure are pretty.......

I have looked at this gentlemans website, he has and is creating some outstanding products for the 58-59. I won't put his link here but you should pm him. I'm very excited to see what he's done and what he's doing...Keep it up Murray
