64 GMC on 86 Blazer running gear
Hello everyone, I been checking out this site for many years and seen lots of nice , cool and awesome ideas. Great work guys keep it up and save more old cars and trucks. Well now i am starting to build a 64 GMC on 86 Blazer running gear. I will try to keep you up to date with pics and info on my build.

Here is my 64 GMC. I paid $1000. for this old truck and going to try to do a budget build.

I had to replace part of the drivers side rocker . I have about 8 hours in today so far but getting lots done.

Awesome work on the rocker,the floor turned out great.
That cab floor is in amazing condition !!! Had there been previous work done ?,or is that all original ? Looking Good. Trent BTW,welcome to the addiction from the other side of AB

Frame is getting striped and started to clean it up. I may get it painted tonight or tomorrow.

The guy at Scotts Super Truck in Penhold has a few in his back lot.
He also deals in patch panels and the like if there's a possiblity of repairing yours. The chassis turned out great. Whatcha doin' next tues/wed....LOL j/k T

Today i had a few extra hands to help out in the garage. We got the transmission and transfer case checked , cleaned , new seals and painted.

Good deals today. A friend works in the oilfields and got me a killer deal on a brand new ZZ4 350 crate motor and yes it runs. It dont even have 100 hours on it and never turned over 2500 rpm for $500.00 . I also got a set of headers from a friend that are just like new for free . This sure help the budget build. lol

I hate to break it to you but that is not a ZZ4 crate engine. The ZZ4's don't come with Vortec heads. Now it is possible the short block is a ZZ4. You can determine that by the code stamped on the passenger side just in front of the head.

Great progress Ron.
ZZ4 or not ,great score on the engine. Something you might need to look at is the valves,it's rumoured that they're tack welded so they can't rotate,all good for 20 000 hrs at 2500 rpm running on natural gas (from the well),but not so good for variable rpm on pump gas. Check it out when your switching to some nice chrome covers. T

Motor , transmission and transfer case is in and looking good. I even test fired it tonight and runs great.
