how do i get the radio out
fellas, i know this is crazy. but i have an old radio in my 85 gmc. i want to put in my jvc. i looked behind the dash and it appears too cramped to remove. i know someone got the damn thing in there. but there seems to be a big piece of plastic under the radio, further complicating the matter. is there an easier way?

remove the brace screw at the radio back remove the two nuts on the radio knobs found behind the knobs pull out to the rear of the dashboard and make sure ya disconnect ( pull out ) the antenna cable and unplug the wiring harness pieces to it very simple

If you have air conditioning, you might remove the long vent pipe that runs under the dash.

I think you have to unscrew the far left vent in order to remove the long air duct. You should put it back even though your A/C doesn't work, the fresh air will still come out of it in the vent position.
